NETPREP’S TUTORING PROGRAM - A DETAILED DESCRIPTION
NetPrep is an online Supplemental Educational Services (“SES”) provider that utilizes world-class online Mathematics and English Language Arts programs. The two programs are from The Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY) at Stanford University: (1) the Stanford University EPGY Mathematics Program (“the Stanford EPGY Math Program”) and (2) the Stanford University EPGY Language Arts and Writing Program (“the Stanford EPGY Language Arts and Writing Program”). The programs allow us to track detailed information about our students’ performance via the Internet. The programs are comprehensive – they provide real-time data on student assessments and student progress. The programs also provide additional data for knowledge management (capturing data for better instructional planning).
Tutoring is provided for grades 2 to 8. Students will receive online tutoring four hours per week during regularly-scheduled sessions. Specifically, students are in session four days per week; each session will last one hour. Our locations will provide students with computers and secure internet connections to access the online SES programs.
Students who desire to work additional time on the online SES programs may access their lessons 24/7 from any Internet connection. Tutors and classroom teachers communicate and share student instructional information through the management and email systems. NetPrep allows students to be comfortable with online courses, thus they are better prepared to meet the new state law requiring high school students to take an online class or have an online learning experience before they graduate.
The online SES programs will be provided through NetPrep Academies, located inside selected community and faith-based organizations (“CBO partners”). We have endeavored to select CBO partners that are either near a school required to provide SES or they have ongoing after-school programs. |
